DIY 3D Printer from regular printer

Commercial 3D printers range from $10,000 - $15,000 for a desktop version. They can print in a variety of plastics and some composites in the more expensive models.

For my latest project I am looking to build a 3D printer from an existing inkjet printer. An inkjet printer already possesses an X and Y axis. I will then add a Z axis and replace the ink with resins that will harden after being mixed.

I have had this project in mind for a while and am very excited to get it going!
